Dr. Goldberg is a fellowship trained orthopaedic spine surgeon who specializes in the treatment of patients spinal conditions involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. After completing a spine fellowship at Rush University Medical Center and abroad, Dr. Goldberg has used his 13 years of clinical experience in the management of spinal afflictions as a member of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. Dr. Goldberg is a conservative surgeon who first utilizes non-operative methods of care prior to recommending surgery in most cases. To achieve this philosophy and ensure a positive patient experience, Dr. Goldberg uses a team approach which includes a Registered Nurse who sub-specializes in spine, dedicated office staff, other orthopaedic sub-specialists and alternative medical providers.

A variety of conditions can affect the cervical, thoracic and lumbar areas of your spine; not limited to,

  • Herniated Nucleus Pulposus (HNP)
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD)
  • Spondylolisthesis

Dr. Goldberg has performed over 2500 operations for these conditions with the most up to date surgical techniques.

In addition to being a clinician, Dr. Goldberg is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center. He is responsible for educating the orthopedic residents in the Orthopedic Residency Program at Rush University Medical Center in the non-operative and operative procedures in patients with spinal conditions. More over, Dr. Goldberg is actively involved in the teaching of three surgeon fellows that participate in the spine fellowship program.

Furthermore, Dr. Goldberg as part of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, is team physician for the Chicago White Sox and spine consultant for the Chicago Bulls.
